The World of Agon
There are five continents in the realm of Darkfall. A centralized one named Agon, One to the north-east named Yssam, one to the north-west named Nilfheim, On to the South-west named Rubyiat and one to the south-est of Agon named Cairn. Other Important landmasses in size include Mirrorsea, a large deserted island in the middle of the ocean to the west and the island to the south of Agon, commonly refered by folks as “Skull Island”.
Agon is separated in seven territories controlled by the six great races: Mercia (humans), Nagast (Alfars), Mirendil (Mirdains), Dvergheim (Dwarves), Morak (Orks) and The Tribelands (Mahirims). There is also Afghan, a dreaded territory controled by the dead and other vile creatures in the central portion of the continent.
Nilfheim is an icebound, arctic wilderness, home to thriving of Icejarls and Frostbourne yetis. Flesh-scouring blizzards whip across the mountain plateaus of the interior, where the whiteness is broken by ice-blue glaciers and mysterious lakes whose waters resemble quicksilver.
Niflheim’s southern coast is mostly inhabited by Northmen, a people closely involved with the sea. They rely on fishing, trading and occasional raids on some fertile lands in the south of Nilfheim. Their settlements are mostly connected via ocean; roads are rare.
An Ice_Demon called Illgarm started gathering monsters under his rule in the last couple of years, and has even persuaded some of the Northmen to join him in his desire to invade the mainland. Some monster camps have already appeared on the mainland’s frozen northern shores. The Snowclan dwarves and Icejarls under his rule are building a large castle that will be Illgarm’s seat of power on Nilfheim.
Most of Nilfheim’s settlements are located along the coast as the centre of the island is inhabited by dangerous creatures and the landscape is much harsher. Due to the harsh landscape and lack of roads, many of the cities rely on their harbour for transport to and from the island.
Yssam, Agon’s northeastern continent is a place of stifling heat, lush vegetation and heavy rains. Here, the jungle slowly reclaims the cities of a fallen culture, whose destroyer now slumbers within the walls of an emerald-clad citadel. Mindless of this, some of Agon’s most terrible monsters prowl the forest depths in search of prey.
This continent was home to the elf folks Ithwens. They had no special relation with nature like the mirdains, and they built houses of stone. The ruins of their civilization are recent, and bones of fallen elves are not rare. The cause of this destruction was the only Celestial Dragon known to be residing on Agon. His name is Far-Loradain, and no one knows why he did attack the Ithwens. He is served by powerful warriors and spellcasters, he and his minions reside in the citadel at the center of the continent.
Rain-starved and sun-scorched, the desert continent of Rubaiyat is a desolate and inhospitable place. That said, the desert is home to several monster breeds that have adapted to the climate, including the nomadic djeer, and the life-devouring Shades that haunt its many ruins.
The southeastern continent of Cairn is dominated by arid, viciously sun-scorched plains strewn with shattered and twisted rock formations. The plains are tortured by winds that blast mercilessly across the flats, howling around the jagged stands of rock. Tornadoes and dust devils spawn in the scrub lands, and wild, rainless electrical storms dance across the blasted plains.
Cairn was mainly inhabited by the aernar, a peaceful and religious race. However, minotaurs started taking over the territory, invading from the mainland. Most villages fell under the minotaurs’ aggression. Now, the minotaurs mostly wage war among themselves, on the mainland coast or with other inhabitants of Cairn. One of their enemies are the nomadic Cairn Giants that live in the interior of Cairn.
In the center of Cairn stands Kasdim, an old Chaldean city, full of treasure and valuable artifacts. Today, Kasdim is home to monster factions which battle over control of these treasures.
There are two types of NPC(non player character) cities which cannot be controlled by clans. These cities can be used by anyone according to one's alignment to craft, buy reagents, access the market, bank and more. To enter a Safe City one must have positive alignment. Inside a Safe City, aggression towards players results in death by guard tower. Chaos cities are the other type of city not owned by a clan. These cities do not have guard towers or alignment restrictions, so one is free to be killed or killed without consequence. The map to the right shows Safe cities highlighted in blue and Chaos cities in red.
Villages and Houses
All over Agon, villages are scattered through the land. Villages play an important part in PvP Combat. Aside from PvP, players can own property in villages by using a House Deed on a vacant housing plot. You can make a deed with the Construction skill. Once placed, a house cannot be moved. There are also wilderness housing plots you can place houses in.
There are five different sizes of houses. Ranging from smallest to largest: cottage, house, villa, large villa and keep. Different sized houses can have different amounts of guests and different amounts of items within them. Each house can have a safe plus other decorative or crafting items. You can add guests by alt clicking on them and removing them from within your journal.
All houses have taxes that must be paid every two weeks.
Currently, the only way to trade a house is through Player Trading. Using a trusted middle man is probably the safest way.
Treasure maps are an item you can find in Agon from rare chests, Monsters, Tasks, or through village captures. They come in Small, Medium and Large sizes, each having different amount and quality of rare loot! When you get a treasure map, double click it to open. It will show you a small area of the map with an X over the spot the treasure is in. Use your ingame map to locate the area, carefully looking at the clues given. Once you know the position, grab a shovel and Travel there to dig up your loot!
Be wary though! Treasure maps are lootable on death so others can take your map or your loot!
Zooming your map to x21.5 will provide a 1-1 scale to compare with your treasure map.
You can use the opacity button to lower the opacity of your treasure map and overlay it with the in-game map which might be useful in finding the spot to dig.
Across Agon, Chaos Chests will spawn in the wild. You can loot these chests and have a totally random chance of getting some loot. It may be a penitence or a fortune. Keep your eyes peeled for the chests!

In Dungeons across Agon, there are rare treasure chests of varying types. There is a treasure chest type for each rare metal element. Selentine, Veilron, Neithal, Leenspar and Theyril. These chests range in rarity and loot quality with selentine being the most common and theyril being the most rare.
To open one of these chests, you must first find one. Many chests are located in dungeons with dangerous Monsters guarding them! Also, you will need the right key. For example; a selentine chest requires a selentine key. You can find these keys on the bodies of monsters all over Agon. They drop as loot and can be banked, bought and sold on the player market place.
