Rise of Agon has a unique combat system utilizing first-person combat and real-time hit detection. Players wielding magic staves and bows are locked in first-person shooter view. Unsheathing a melee weapon places characters in a close third-person view. Tab targeting is not used whatsoever and friendly fire is enabled, so be wary to not injure an ally or heal an enemy. Rise of Agon’s skill-based combat is unparalleled among MMORPG’s.

Rise of Agon prides itself in allowing absolute player freedom. Players are free to attack, murder, and loot one another should they wish, but such actions do not go unpunished. An Alignment system exists to ensure that good and evil deeds are recognized. Players will have to weigh the Risk vs Reward.

Rise of Agon is a Hardcore, Full-Loot PvP MMORPG. Every item on a character is lootable upon death in lawless zones.

Choosing your Race and learning your Combat skills will be critical to your survival!

Alignment

The measure of how Blue or Red a character is. Killing other players that have positive alignment will lower your own alignment. You will lose a certain amount of alignment by downing a blue player and more by ganking. If your alignment drops too far below 0, NPC guard towers in capitals will attack you. If your alignment falls even further, you will not be welcome in any NPC city.

There are also titles associated with certain alignments. Getting -1000 alignment will give you the title of Villain and +1000 will give you the title of Saint.

Your alignment will increase passively over time.

Your aligment can be seen under your mana bar.

Villages

All across Agon are villages. These are areas in the world where player houses can be placed. No two villages are alike. Villages can go active between once or several times a day. When a village is active, you can go to that village and capture it! The capturing party gets valuable rare loot and materials.

To capture a village you must be in a party, even a party of one. You must take control of the control points to start earning points. You need 1200 points to capture the village. Each village has three control platforms on the outskirts of the village. In order to take control of the control platforms you must stand on them until they flip over to your control. You can use the village UI element to track control of the three control points. Watch out for other players coming to capture the village!

To get to a village to try and capture it, you can visit a Village Billboard in any NPC capital or player city. The cost of transport to a active village is 1500 gold from a Player City and 3000 gold from a NPC City. No Chaos Cities currently have billboards.

Village Loot

Village loot is regionalized. So the loot you get will get reflects the location of the village in the world. For example: villages on the coast will see more ship mods than villages in the center.

Village loot is a static reward per village. It will go to the backpack of a party member which will be announced in a global capture message. Villages are divided into four groups with increasing risk/rewards. All villages are portable via billboard. One from each of the 3 main groups will go live every 30 minutes.

Lawful Villages - These will have the lowest rewards and will be ideal for new players or small groups. The same loot rules apply here as for all lawful areas and players will only drop their backpack if they die here.

Lawless Sea Villages - Medium risk, medium reward. These villages will be changed in the near future to the classic damage the stone way of capturing villages with boats only.

Lawless Villages - High risk, high reward. Located on the islands and center map.

Chaldean Villages - These are the highest risk, highest reward villages. When a Chaldean Village goes live no others will. There are 5 Chaldean villages, 1 for each island and 1 center map. They will go live once per hour on the hour from 20.00 UTC to 5.00 UTC.

Zones, Stances, and Looting

Zones

Capital - Virtually all of Human lands is where peaceful blue players will not drop loot.

Lawful - This area covering the racial territories outside of human lands and has partial loot rules. Peacfull players cannot be attacked by Neutral players in this Zone but can be by Hostile Players.

Lawless - Oceans, Islands and the Pall of Oncylus (Center) are lawless. Everyone is freeless attackable and drops full loot.

Looting

No Loot - Is reserved for peaceful blue players in the capital area only. They will only drop a bit of gold on incapacitation and nothing else.

Partial Loot - Means player will keep their gear in their paperdoll including their equiped weapon at the time of death. However all of their backpack items, loot bags and it contents will drop.

Full Loot - Same as before, all players who are marked as rogue(grey) or red(Murderer) will be exempt from partial loot and will drop all inventory and paperdoll on death as usual in any zone.

Stances

Peaceful - Blue players with the peaceful stance will not be damaged or affected by physics from other players if within a Capital area.

Neutral - Players with this stance can engage in combat with other players that have a Neutral or Hostile stance. Dying in this stance has the partial loot rules within Capital and Lawfull zones.

Hostile Stance - Players with hostile stance will drop all loot no matter where they are, and are attack-able by anyone even in the capital area. To remove hostile stance a player must pray at a church with enough gold. Changing to Hostile can only be done outside a city, will make a player permanently rogue while in this stance and disables alignment gain. NPC towers will always attack players in hostile stance.
