Hitting behind

Getting hit from behind increases damage by 50%, both for players and monsters.

This also increases the magnitude for heals, buffs and debuffs in similar way.

Combat on foot

Players that fight on foot very often change weapons frequently, so melee when getting close and ranged when there is some distance or chasing.

Or spells to create distance like Begone or drawing people in with Come hither. Notice that such movement manipulation spells do not work on monsters, although the monsters movement manipulation spells do work on players.

Opponents on mounts can be dismounted by killing the mount.

Scaling walls

This can be done in various ways. For example using Launch, Wall of Force, Telekinesis or a combination of those spells.

Combat with ships and warhulks

Ships can use shock chargers to damage people in water around the ship. And cannons can hurt people too.

People can board the ship/warhulk and fight onboard. The ship/warhulk itself can be damaged by monsters or cannons, the more damage it takes, the slower it gets, until it sinks.

Mounted combat

When mounted only 1H weapons and shield can be used. Forward swings are done by left-clicking when moving. Sideways swings is done by leaning left or right while moving and left-clicking. Mounted hits does more damage than same hit without being mounted.

The mount itself can kick backwards and bite forward by using left-click with move-backwards or left-clicking while still, but only when a 1H is drawn. The mounts damage is bludgeoning.

The mount can be damaged and killed by players and monsters.

Combat in water

When swimming you can cast spells and fire arrows but they wont go underwater.

When you are diving you can fire arrows and use melee weapons but not use spells. The arrows can hit swimming and diving people/monsters, but not fly above the water.

Beware when dying in water, you cannot be revived.
